Dr. Das completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training in India. He then specialised in Paediatric Neurology and subsequently worked in teaching hospitals in India and abroad. He underwent further training in Neurophysiology and Paediatric Neurology in the UK. He is currently working as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK since 2003. He is also an Honorary Lecturer at UCL (ICH). His main areas of interest are in the management of complex epilepsy and role of VNS in children. He also has specialist expertise in Neurophysiology, especially in the epilepsy surgery programme, including invasive monitoring. He is fascinated by the complex interrelationships between the brain and the mind and the difficulties faced in the diagnosis of epilepsy. He has also been involved in several research projects, mainly involving epidemiological studies as well as in clinical neurophysiology. He has passion for teaching and is a regular faculty member of various national and international training programmes.
